Helping kids navigate big feelings: Emotional regulation through play and practice
April 11, 2025
The power of joining a mission-led franchise
May 30, 2025When it comes to supporting children’s wellbeing in schools, there’s nothing more powerful than hearing directly from the people who see the impact first-hand. Mind Marvels works alongside headteachers, SENCOs and wellbeing leads to deliver practical, engaging sessions that children not only enjoy, but remember.
Our sessions focus on emotional regulation, mindfulness and confidence-building – but beyond the techniques, it’s about the connection. And it’s that connection that keeps schools inviting us back, year after year.
Here’s what schools say about working with Mind Marvels.

Real impact, real relationships
We often hear that it’s the relationships our session leaders build with pupils that make all the difference. Whether it’s through breathing techniques, calming exercises or simply having a trusted adult in the room, children begin to open up and feel more in control of their emotions.
“Mind Marvels has helped the children within my class to become more mindful and using the techniques and strategies learned to help the other children within the school to show mindfulness, calming and relaxing moments throughout the day. The children engaged extremely well and the relationships built with the leaders were excellent. We are sad to see them leave and hope to have them back soon!!” Ciara M, Trustist Review
“The classes have absolutely loved their sessions. Jo has been so patient with all pupils and has formed a great relationship with them. The children have definitely benefited from Mind Marvels and have loved having time to be quiet and relax. We will continue to practise techniques and activities we have learned in our class.” – Hannah G, Trustist Review
“This is the first type of intervention that one of the pupils has actually been talking about and really enjoying – it’s been years, but he seems to be really enjoying it.” – Class teacher
Practical tools that stay with children
Our aim is always to leave children with tools they can take beyond the session. Teachers often tell us that breathing exercises and mindfulness techniques become part of their classroom routine long after we’ve packed up our session kit.
“We are going to have 15 minutes every Friday doing some Mind Marvels techniques and will use the breathing exercises in class anytime we feel we need it. Mind Marvels has been incredible for us and has really helped some of the children find their voice when explaining how they are feeling. I would recommend all schools bring Mind Marvels into their school and truly embrace the learning.” – Wellbeing lead
“She’s really been taking everything in that you’ve been teaching the class and it’s amazing just to watch how she has blossomed. All of the children have really benefited from Mind Marvels sessions way more than I could have imagined, it’s been wonderful to see.” – Class teacher
Loved by pupils (and parents too)
One of the best signs that a wellbeing session is working? Children are still talking about it afterwards – and so are their parents!
“The children really enjoyed last week and some of the parents have talked about it and said they think it’s great and they are really pleased Mind Marvels are in the school.” – Headteacher
“Excellent experience. Children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and attending each week. They will most certainly miss this.” – Gayle M, Trustist Review
Why schools bring Mind Marvels back again and again
We tailor every session to the needs of each school – from early years to upper primary, from group work to individual sessions. Our session leaders come with experience, warmth, and a clear understanding of how to support both children and staff.
“Jo has been so patient with all pupils and has formed a great relationship with them. The children have definitely benefited… We will continue to practise techniques and activities we have learned.” – Class Teacher
Mind Marvels isn’t a one-off wellbeing activity. It’s a partnership.
